CurryDeals

Privacy policy

Last updated 31 October 2026

This policy explains how CurryDeals (“CurryDeals”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use currydeals.com.au. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and name (or the name your Google or Apple account shares) when you sign in.
  • Things you save or post: favourite restaurants, deal alerts, reviews and ratings, deals you report as not working, and deal tips you send us.
  • Newsletter: your email address and, if you choose, your city.
  • Restaurant owners: contact name, phone number, ABN and information you provide to verify you manage a restaurant; billing details for boosts are handled by Stripe (we never see your full card number).
  • Location: only when you tap “near me” your browser shares your approximate location to find nearby deals. We use it for that search and do not store it.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, deal views and code reveals (counted anonymously for restaurant statistics), device and browser information and IP address.
  • Cookies: essential cookies keep you signed in. With your consent we also use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel and (when enabled) Google AdSense cookies to measure and improve the site and show relevant ads. You can choose “Essential only” in the cookie banner.

Restaurant information from public sources

To build our directory we use publicly available business information (for example OpenStreetMap, Google Maps business details and restaurant websites) such as business name, address, phone, website and advertised specials. If this includes information about you as a sole trader, you can ask us to correct or remove it at currydeals.com.au/takedown.

How we use your information

  • to run the site, your account, favourites and deal alerts;
  • to send emails you asked for (sign-in links, alerts, newsletter) and service messages;
  • to verify restaurant owners and process boost payments;
  • to moderate content and keep the site safe;
  • to understand how the site is used and improve it; and
  • to contact restaurants at their published business email or phone about their listing (you can opt out at any time).

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to operate CurryDeals:

  • Supabase (database and sign-in), hosted in Sydney, Australia;
  • Vercel (website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics);
  • Resend (email delivery);
  • Stripe (payments, for restaurant owners);
  • Google, Meta and TikTok (analytics and advertising, only with your consent).

Restaurants can see aggregated statistics about their deals (views, reveals, claims) but not who you are, except where you redeem a unique code at their venue.

Overseas disclosure

Some providers (Vercel, Resend, Stripe, Google, Meta and TikTok) may store or process information in the United States, the European Union, Singapore and other countries. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the APPs.

Security and retention

We use encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database security. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it. You can delete your account by contacting us.
